how too plug in?

i just got a new wii but i dont know what too do with that 2 prongs cord with the adapter on it? i tried putting it into the bakc of the tv but it woudnt fit then i plugged it into the vcr and their was smoke. were does the prong-plug go?!?also what r those white and yellow collured cords for? they seem useless so i might throw them outhow too plug in?

Read teh MANUAL. Ok basically each color goes into that colored slot in your tv. So put the yellow cord in the yellow hole in your tv. The red cord in the red hole in your tv, the white cord in the white hole in your tv. Each cord does something different like sound, video, etc.
but what about the prong 1? its got 2 prongs and a adapter on it?

Then to test the remotes throw them at your wii. just to see if it is motion sensitive.
