Those awesome motion control moments!

It's sad, for a console that is motion contoled, how little games give you that interaction feeling you only get with motion controls. I've only felt it during a few games like in Call of Duty 3 (the driving, pedaling, bomb setting ect), Metroid Prime 3 (the grapple beam with the nunchuk and turning the switches), Zelda: TP (sword swinging at first), and a bit in games like Medal of Honor: Hereoes 2 or Resident Evil (the running sequences). For me, Zack and Wiki, didn't give me this feeling at all.. that game just felt disconnected, I don't know why....And the same with Wii Sports (I know, wierd) Does anyone know what I'm talking about, that aesome feeling you get when you feel like you're in control of you movements? What games brought you that feeling? Those awesome motion control moments!
RE 4 and Wii sports right away.

Now that's worn off and it's just a pain to use the Wii-mote...I always look to see if I can use the other controllers to play the games

Alone in the dark looks like it has some cool motion control sequeces...
Yeah, it feels like your are ''disconnected'' in most of the games. I always get submerged in Corruption, it just did beautifully with the controls. I sometime's feel it in Kart with the Wii wheel. You know it's bad when you shake the GC controller to perform a stunt.
WiiSports bowling is still one of my favorite motion control experiences to this day.Metroid Prime 3, Resident Evil 4 and Lostwinds also had awesome controls that really felt fulfilling. Oh, and I can't forget WarioWare... I didn't really keep the game long because I'm not a fan of minigames (it got good reviews so I gave it a shot), but the controls on it were very good.
The controls usually feel tacked on to me. There are very few games that actually make good use of the Wiimote.
SSX Blur: steering controls are amazing. Z%26W: some puzzles were immersive, mostly thoses about tilting.Galaxy: getting the stars in the pointer was like second nature and the shaking to spin was 1:1 so it was intuitive.Trauma Center: the whole experience is immersive. You have to be quick and precise.Elebits: just making the room a mess and throwing everything around was fun.Boom Blox, the Jenga like puzzles.Okami: Drawing the symbols with the pointer.Warioware: relies on your reflexes, nuff said.MP3: The overall controls, beside the grapple.Secret Rings: Wasn't perfect but still immersive.Mario Kart: Sterring wheel
I agree with MP3 and zelda at first, although I did find Zack and Wiki to often have really good controls.

You said Super Mario Galaxy as one, which clearly isn't. I agree that collecting the star bits with the remote is a lot better than running into them (and a lot funner) and smaking the Wii Remote... worked, it wasn't really imersive, only kind of in the manta ray surfering or the ball game but that's about it.EDIT: I'm not really talking about intuitivness or how well the controls work, I'm talking about that feeling of imersion when you're just like ''wow this is awesome'' and you feel like you're in control.
Metroid Prime 3 is the only game I've felt was truly immersive and intuitive. Most people may not want to flail their arms everywhere, but I'm waiting for that kind of game. I want to flail a whip, morning star, mace, etc...basically I want my Castlevania! Actually, I'm waiting for an FPS that takes advantage of the Balance Board and the Wii-mote.

[/QUOTE]Well if the intuitiveness is big and I like it, that means it is immersive to me. The wiimote was a big part of why I loved Galaxy. I said wow in all thoses games cuz of the controls. I suppose that I get more easily immerged(sp?) by wii controls than the average Wii owner.I get what you mean through, it's just that to me little things like Galaxy shaking can get me in the game, it's not only about the swing motion, it's about the reflexe of doing it when right and when on top of that is that the result on screen is 1:1, that's where I get the immersion from.
I see...
