hey guys, i've been hiding the fact i got a wii from my family. and my mom recently told my aunt, who now says she and her daughters are coming over to play it this weekend. the thing is i'm working this weekend and i don't want my wii being played when i'm not home (cause my mom would probably let them). so i was wondering if anybody knows if there is a way to lock the wii.like make it necessary for a pin to be put in when turned on.please help if you knowThanks'!wii lock? (please help)
Not to my knowledge, but you may be over complicating the subject. Maybe put it out of reach, or simply talk to your mom (in a nice, sensible manner and layout your concers over your expensive, fragile, complicated, technical (getting the hint here?) system). I don't personally know your mother, but my mom would sometimes do the same thing, back in the day. However, once we had a nice little talk (literally. I'm not just being a sarcastic jerk here. We really did sit down one day and had a legitimately nice, respective talk) regarding my concerns for some of my stuff, and the amount of money/time that has gone into these objects, she was surprisingly understanding of the subject at hand.wii lock? (please help)
take the wii and stuff on the highest area in the closet
i asked my mom and she says she's going to let them play because it's not like they'll break it. but i remember when we were playing kingdom hearts 2 on my ps2 (a fairly slow game where button mashing is unnecessary) and i could feel my controller breaking in her hands. and you don't even have to move your hands for that. imagine what she'd do to my wii!i've decided i'm just going to find a nice hiding place for my wii mote, cause without that i don't think they'll be able to do anything.thanks though.:)
Just take it to work with you
I think you can lock certain ESRB rated games. Go to the configuration settings on the wii and navigate around.
Take one of the cables, power or A/V.
I would say not to worry about it as long as there is some kind of supervision. The Wii is for all ages to play, it's a tough console.

yah you can. go to the wii settings, click parental controls. You can make a password (an easy one for you to remember) and a recovery question. Then you can chose the types of games you want restricted unless you have the password. and you click C (which stands for children 3 and up) as the games you want to restrict. which makes any game rated C and up not allowed to play unless they have the password. So no people will play with your wii

All you have to do is hide the Wiimote's and you'll be fine.

If they're coming over to play it, dont you think they would be quite disapointed to find out they cant? Its not like they will break it, leave out an accessible game (like wii sports) and hide the rest, then they can play that one. They probably wont break anything, just leave a note to tell them to put on the wriststraps.
