my 1st wii forum post, some questions... ...

Hey all. This is my 1st visit to the wii forum. I wonder if you would be kind enough to answer some questions for me.i bought my wii in the UK, just emigrated to australia. Our wii should arrive in a few days but i'm not sure australian wii games will work, could anyone confirm this for me?I would also like some recommendations for great party games, have alot of get togethers here in oz so wii is gret for party's.Thanks in advance guys.my 1st wii forum post, some questions... ...
For party games, I'd say WarioWare, Mario Kart and Smash Bros are must haves. Boom Blox is apparently great fun for parties as well but I've yet to try it.I'm not 100% sure about being able to play games from UK on Aus Wii though, eventhough both regions have PAL consoles. my 1st wii forum post, some questions... ...
i'm not sure about your first question, so i'll leave that to someone else. in regards to party games....i'd recommend boom blox, mario kart, smash bros. (pretty obvious ones)
thanks, i'll give those games a look. I was told PS3 was same region yet my uk dvd's dont play on my australian PS3, i know these are not games but it doesn't fill me with confidence.
I don't know about your first question either, but I do recommend boom blox, it's such a great game!
Albeit, the other games mentioned above also of course
Australia and UK are in a PAL setting so I think they will work. 70% sure lol.
thanks, i'll give those games a look. I was told PS3 was same region yet my uk dvd's dont play on my australian PS3, i know these are not games but it doesn't fill me with confidence.
DVDs and games are different.

DVD's use a 'region code' system. For example, the US is Region 1, Europe is Region 2, Japan is Region 3, Australia and South America is Region 4 and so on. So your PS3 is a Region 4 DVD player, but you have Region 2 DVDs. Not compatable.

Games however, are different. There are only 3 regions with games: NTSC, PAL and SECAM.
NTSC covers America and Japan, PAL is Europe, Australia and some others. So your UK games will work on a Australian PS3 as they are both PAL region.

Hope that helps

You will need a new DVD player though:P you can get those for like 10 quid now though, so that isnt really a problem
